Discover how Sewanee is building community and opportunity on the Mountain.

Sewanee Village Ventures

In 2022, the University created Sewanee Village Ventures (SVV), a for-profit entity designed to drive new commercial and residential development. Over the past year, SVV has made significant strides in revitalizing the Village through new single-family employee housing, enhanced employee home financing programs, the acquisition and redevelopment of vacant commercial properties, funding for employee apartments, and plans for employee townhomes.

Development Resources

As lots open for new construction on the Domain, builders and residents can access Sewanee's planning resources to guide them through the design stage.

Multi-use Trails

Access over 100 miles of trails from the Sewanee Village. The Domain is home to 65 miles of hiking trails, including the signature 20-mile Perimeter Trail and the Heritage Trail, an initiative of the Roberson Project. The historic Trail of Tears passed through Sewanee along the Mountain Goat Trail, a former rail line that will extend more than 35 miles when complete.
