- Part 2: Student Only Workshop with Dr. Anderson (undergrad and grad) at 2 pm in DuPont Library, Room G-26 (on the bottom floor near the middle of the hallway) | STIRLINGS PROVIDED!!
- In this workshop, Dr. Anderson will guide participants through the intersections of mapping, storytelling, and the environmental humanities through an anti-racist lens. Drawing on
methods from Black Performance Theory and critical ethnography, Dr. Anderson will teach participants how to map narratives of place and community that reveal hidden histories and engage with environmental justice. Through interactive activities, participants will gain tools to create maps that tell stories, foreground marginalized voices, and reflect on their roles in reshaping the narratives of the places they inhabit. - REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THE STUDENT WORKSHOP By Dec. 4th! [CLICK HERE] or scan the QR Code on the flyer.
- Part 3: THE CREATE CONVERSATION | Poetics of Praxis: Cultivating Anti-Racism, Community, and the Artist-Scholar at 5pm in the Social Lodge
- In this conversation, performance scholar Dr. Mysia Anderson and Dr. Britt Threatt (English, Sewanee) will discuss how performance and scholarship can be powerful tools of antiracism that ground one in the community and offer a way to think about ethics in a world of environmental devastation. Perfect for students in environmental studies, theatre, and humanities who are interested in using their degrees in diverse and creative ways. Perfect for faculty who are interested in adding to their understanding of the intersection between antiracist teaching pedagogy and Community Engaged Learning. Perfect for staff who are interested in learning about the cultivation of Anti-Racism, Community, and the Artist-Scholar.
