Email Update from Provost Scott Wilson

January 26, 2026

Dear Members of the University Community:

Today, the sun pitched in to help our Facilities Management team to clear much of the snow and ice from roads and sidewalks. Based on the clearing that occurred today and no forecast for further precipitation, the University will return to in-person instruction and full operations on Tuesday, Jan. 27. Unless road conditions for individuals prove too dangerous to come to campus, all faculty and staff members should plan to report to work on campus on Tuesday.

While we plan to hold in-person classes and return to operations on campus, there remain some areas of ice on roads and sidewalks. We urge you to allow extra time and move with caution when driving to and walking on campus. The Sewanee Police Department will provide detailed updates on particular roads to avoid due to lingering ice.

Sincerely,

Scott Wilson, Provost
