Faculty Dialogue Awards
Dialogue Across Difference in the Classroom
OVERVIEW
Through support from the Jesse Ball duPont Fund, the Faculty and Staff Dialogue Awards and the Student Dialogue Ambassadors Pilot Program will train and support faculty, staff, and students to develop dialogue across difference programming and curriculum. The Faculty Dialogue Awards will give faculty a $1,000 stipend for incorporating dialogic practices into a new or existing course, to be taught by Spring Semester 2021.
REQUIRED TRAINING
To be eligible for the Awards or Ambassador program, applicants must participate in the intensive 1.5 day training with Essential Partners, Sept. 6-7, 2019. Sign-up for the intensive training here; space is extremely limited.

TIMELINE
- Sept. 6-7 2019: Intensive Training on Dialogue Across Difference with Essential Partners; Awards/Ambassador applications available
- Oct. 7, 2019: Awards/Ambassador applications due; jury reviews applications
- Oct. 15, 2019: Awards/Ambassador decisions announced
- Oct. 15, 2019-April 20, 2020: Five meetings of Dialogue Peer Learning Community; implementation of dialogue programming and courses
- Apr. 20, 2020: Final reflection due for Staff Dialogue Awardees and Student Dialogue Ambassadors
- May 31, 2020: Syllabus and final reflection due for Faculty Dialogue Awardees
AWARD Recipient RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend one-and-a-half-day intensive dialogue training with Essential Partners on Sept. 6-7, 2019
- Identify new or existing course for incorporation of dialogical practices (course must be taught by Spring 2021)
- Attend five meetings of the Dialogue Peer Learning Community during the 2019-2020 Academic Year
- Present out on work at one of the Peer Learning sessions as well as other potential venues
- Invite Director of Dialogue Across Difference for observation during one or more course sessions
- By May 31, 2021, submit final syllabus and written reflection on dialogic work
- Participate in programmatic assessment as requested
