South Cumberland Plateau AmeriCorps members annually engage in National Days of Service by supporting community initiatives through volunteer service. In September, in honor of the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, our members reached out across the plateau to support a variety of community endeavors.
AmeriCorps Members joined Sewanee’s student-led firefighters, Rotarians, and community members at the Quad to place nearly 3,000 flags honoring those lost on 9/11.
