As a signature event of Dialogue Across Difference Programs in the Office of Civic Engagement, the Dinner & Dialogue project sets out to bring together students and colleagues from across the university for a meal and structured conversation in an informal, fun setting.

Dinner & Dialogue recognizes how important everyday rituals are to building community at Sewanee, and views such occasions as opportunities to activate a shared vision for Sewanee defined by a robust culture of respectful dialogue. Together, we are creating a space to connect with each other and practice having meaningful conversations. We hope you join us!

Our Easter 2024, Dinner & Dialogue will be held in Convocation Hall from 5:15 to 7 pm on:

Wednesday, February 21, 2024

February’s dialogue will take up the theme: Reflections on the meaning of ‘Ecce Quam Bonum’(EQB) as a guiding aspiration for living in community at Sewanee.

Tuesday, April 9, 2024

April's dinner and dialogue will be slightly different from our usual format.

In April, RHET 491 students will plan a forum to discuss free expression and campus inclusion.

To encourage diverse participation, participants are asked to RSVP in pairs, following the guidance that “whoever comes brings someone who is not like them.” Who you invite to attend with you is intentionally left broad (e.g., student inviting a faculty member; inviting someone from a different social group).

Dinner & Dialogue is made possible through broad campus collaborations and through the generous support of: All Saints' Chapel; Center for Leadership; Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Offices of Student Involvement and the Dean of Students.
