Additional Information
* Abbo’s Alley Walking Tour

Friday, October 18, 2:00 p.m. — Join Sewanee Herbarium Associate Mary Priestley for a one-mile walk through the Abbott Martin Ravine Garden, familiarly known as “Abbo’s Alley.” The ravine garden is a lovely mix of native and cultivated plants, and it is steeped in Sewanee history. Meet at the South Carolina Avenue entrance to the Alley, parking on the side of the road. One mile, easy.

 ** Fall Flora of the Res

Saturday, October 19, 10:00 am —  Sewanee Herbarium Associate Mary Priestley will lead a leisurely walk around the St. Andrews-Sewanee Reservoir, known familiarly as "The Res." This short one-mile trail actually traverses four distinct plant habitats and encounters a population of one rare plant (Diamorpha smallii, elf orpine).  Meet at the intersection of Fire Tower and Deepwoods Roads. We are invited to park in the lot on Fire Tower behind SAS's Simmonds academic building. One mile, easy. Van transport will be available.

*** See the information desk for hikes and sign-up forms.
