Join us for an evening of music for solo cello featuring Paul Christopher, Associate Professor of Music at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Songs, Dances & Variations explores the remarkable expressive range of the cello through works by Adolphus Hailstork, Vera Ivanova, and Philip Glass. From variations inspired by a traditional spiritual to vibrant dance-inspired writing and the meditative sound world of Glass, the program brings together three very different perspectives on the sound of the cello.
