Stirling's Coffee House
Artwork by Sewanee Elementary School second graders is now on exhibit at Stirling's Coffee House. Titled "Tigers and Dragons — Oh No!" the show features -- you guessed it -- imaginative tigers and dragons that the children have rendered in oil pastels and tempera paints.
These pieces focus on the dynamic interplay of warm and cool colors, encouraging students to understand how color can convey emotion and story. This semester, art teacher Jaimie Olsen is able to see each student once a week for 45 minutes, a brief but impactful time where they can immerse themselves in the world of creative exploration. The show will hang until March 22.
A reception honoring these young artists will be held on Thursday, March 20, 4:00-5:00. Drop by and see this beautiful and colorful work.
