Environmental Studies at Sewanee 

Explore how environmental learning comes to life across 13,000 acres of forests, trails, and research sites on the Domain. You’ll meet faculty, connect with current students conducting fieldwork and sustainability research, and see how Sewanee integrates science, policy, and hands-on inquiry to address the environmental challenges of today and tomorrow.

Tentative Schedule
9:00 a.m. Overview of 6 Environmental Studies Majors at Sewanee: Biology: Ecology and Biodiversity, Forestry, Geology, Natural Resources, Environment and Sustainability, and Environmental Arts and Humanities.
9:30 a.m. Choose from a mock class or join a class with current Sewanee students.
11:00 a.m.  Take a faculty-led tour of our on-campus research facilities and academic buildings.
11:30 a.m.   Hear from students what it's like to be a Sewanee student and learn about all of the opportunities they have as Environmental Studies students. 
12:15 p.m.  Join faculty and students for lunch at McClurg Dining Hall.
1:15 p.m.  Choose an optional activity:
- Admission Information Session and Campus Tour 
- Take a trip to Split Creek Environmental Observatory (located on Sewanee's campus)
3 p.m.  Meet with a faculty member (seniors only)
