Sewanee's Strategic Planning is a process by which we will identify where we want to go, what we want to achieve, and how we will attempt to get there.

DRAFT FOUNDATIONAL PLANNING REPORT

The Draft Foundational Planning Report reflects feedback from two rounds of listening sessions held during the Joint Faculties meetings earlier in November. This version is much improved from earlier drafts due to faculty participation. The Joint Faculties will dedicate one full meeting on Nov. 15 to debate the Draft Foundational Planning Report and a portion of a second meeting to be scheduled after Thanksgiving to hear final debate and vote on whether to endorse in principle the Report.

Priorities

The University's strategic planning is organized around four priorities: 1) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, 2) Student Success, 3) Economic Development and Domain Stewardship, and 4) Curricular Renewal and Innovation. These sub-committees will research and develop plans to address the range of issues needed to advance the institution toward the desired goals.

Committee Organization and Responsibilities

Sewanee's Strategic Planning Process will be led by a Project Management Team and a Steering Committee. Four Sub-Committees will research and develop plans to address the range of issues needed to advance the institution toward the desired goals.

Phases of Work

The University has a history of engaging in broad strategic planning to understand and respond to the changing environment of higher education. For this process, we will engage in a four phase process to conduct our work.
