At the University of the South, our commitment to inclusion and belonging is grounded in our core values of community, courage, flourishing, and inquiry. Come join us in Sewanee!
Sewanee is committed to faculty working together on interdisciplinary study around crucial issues in society. The 17 positions hired over the next two years will be invited to join any of the following three cohorts: environmental studies, data science, and social justice. Faculty hired in cohorts will team with current faculty to explore these topics through research, teaching, and/or community-based learning. It is not imperative that a new faculty member join a cohort, but such relationships with colleagues will make for a more productive and fulfilling professional life.
Sewanee will add eleven positions in the college this year, and another six next year. This year’s searches include environmental studies, two positions in English (playwriting), two positions in data science (computer science, statistics, or math), music (orchestral conducting), American politics, psychology, and theater (directing). The University is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in scholarship and teaching, and to that end, candidates whose research contributes to DEI are particularly urged to apply.
At the University of the South, our commitment to inclusion and belonging is grounded in our core values of community, courage, flourishing, and inquiry. We seek to build a community enriched by our diversity centered on equity, justice, mutual respect, and shared responsibility.
