The Sewanee Summer Music Festival, one of the nation’s premier orchestra and chamber music training festivals, offers many enriching musical performances.

The Sewanee Summer Music Festival is one of the nation’s premier orchestra and chamber music training festivals. Since 1958, Sewanee has been a destination for talented young musicians seeking advanced classical music training. The inspiring SSMF artist-faculty come from leading orchestras, chamber ensembles, conservatories, and university programs.

A roster of internationally acclaimed guest conductors also participates in the festival.

Throughout the summer the faculty and gifted young artists will offer many enriching musical performances. These include Faculty Artist Series concerts, Symphonic Sundays (featuring the Sewanee Symphony and Cumberland Orchestra), the Jacqueline Avent Concerto Competition, and a special guest performance by PUBLIQuartet.
