The Center for Leadership is for Sewanee faculty and staff. Its mission is 1) to elevate the leader within through professional and personal development programs, and 2) to promote communication and collaboration among colleagues to build strength and trust.

Academic Impressions

The University has a subscription to Academic Impressions, which is a service that has a library of training resources and tools designed for higher education professionals. Resources available include webcasts (both live and recorded), research and reports, blog postings, and virtual conferences. Topics include Retention & Student Success, Teaching & Learning, Admissions & Recruitment, Faculty Affairs, Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Marketing & Communications, Human Resources & Compliance, Planning & Budgeting, Facilities management, Leadership, and much more!

HR Guide for Supervisors

This training is designed to provide practical and beneficial skills and technical assistance so that you can become aware and knowledgeable about common practices, procedures, and guidelines that are essential to a supervisor's success.  

The current configuration of the guide consists of five (5) modules within Brightspace. The five modules cover: Foundations of Supervising Staff, Positions Request Checklists and Forms, Hiring Staff Members, Staff Compensation, and Collaborative Review. For each module there is a quick quiz covering the outlined material.
