Resources for Crises:
I'm having a medical crisis
Please go directly to the ER at Southern Tennessee Regional Health - Sewanee (formerly known as Emerald Hodgson Hospital). This is the hospital located in Sewanee next to the Wellness Center.
I'm having a psychological crisis
Contact the CAPS direct line at 931-598-1325; you will be offered an opportunity to schedule a same-day telehealth appointment with a counselor who will conduct a crisis assessment. The first available provider will attend to you. At this time, wait time is no longer than 30 minutes for your same-day appointment. If you cannot wait 30 minutes for your appointment due to your level of distress, please call 911 for immediate assistance. If you are having a crisis outside of business hours, please see below.
Do not email the Center if you're in a crisis - email is not a reliable means to obtain urgent assistance. Please follow the instructions above.
I've been sexually assaulted
For more information on what to do after an assault and your available options, please see our assault resources page. You can also call both CAPS (x1325) and Health Service (x1777) for assistance.
I have a crisis and it's after business hours
Contact 911 or the Emergency After Hours crisis line (x1700) or go to the ER at the hospital.
