Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) updated public guidance for masking while outdoors. During the pandemic, the University has aligned campus policies with CDC guidance in many different ways. Taking these recommendations into account, the University masking policy is as follows, effective today:

  • While outdoors: Masks are not required, regardless of vaccination status, with the exception of gatherings larger than 200 in attendance.
  • While indoors: Both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals must wear a mask at all times, unless alone, asleep, eating or drinking, or maintaining proper distance.

As a reminder, required weekly surveillance testing for students continues at the Fowler Center. Your testing, combined with ensuring that you practice the 3W's (wear your mask, wash your hands, watch your distance), will ensure we successfully #MakeItToMay.

Undergraduate students can refer to the updated interim policies on our website for additional detail and the latest information.

This has been an incredible semester, and we are all so proud of the Sewanee community’s ability to do what’s necessary to enjoy an on-campus experience this year.

YSR!
